What should I prepare for a dental consultation?
Make a short note of what you want help with and what you would like to understand. For example, you may want to discuss a missing tooth, the appearance of an existing restoration or how several possible treatments compare. Separate your questions from any treatment you have already decided you want.
Ask the clinic which existing records would be useful and how to send them. Do not arrange new imaging solely for an online enquiry without advice from a clinician. Keep personal health information out of public social-media comments.
Bring a question list to a face-to-face meeting or video call. Useful headings include the treating dentist, assessment, alternatives, stages of treatment and follow-up. You can use our guides to All-on-4 and All-on-6 and veneers, crowns and bonding to prepare a discussion, rather than choose a procedure yourself.
What should I ask to have in writing?
Ask for a clear description of the proposed treatment and who will provide it. Record the alternatives discussed and any questions still awaiting an examination. If an online discussion is preliminary, ask what must be confirmed at the clinic.
Keep one folder for your correspondence, appointment details and documents. Check that the clinic's contact details are easy to find. If your plan changes following an examination, ask for an updated version and time to consider it.
How should I plan follow-up and travel?
The NHS advises patients considering treatment abroad to discuss possible complications, clarify aftercare arrangements and allow suitable recovery time before returning home. It also recommends discussing the decision with a clinician and telling an insurer about planned treatment abroad. Read the NHS treatment abroad checklist.
For your own records, write down who to contact after treatment, how to reach them and which documents you should take home. Ask which appointments are confirmed and which depend on an assessment. A general website itinerary cannot replace the dates agreed for your case.
Common questions
Does a UK meet-up mean treatment takes place in the UK?
For İ-Klinik Global, UK meet-ups are a way to discuss treatment and meet the team. Clinical treatment is arranged in İstanbul. Check the current consultation-day page for the available locations and contact the team to confirm an appointment.
Can I decide on implants from photographs alone?
An enquiry can start a conversation. Ask the treating dentist what examinations and records they need before making a recommendation. Our implant treatment page explains the service and links to the team.
Where can I ask about my own situation?
Contact global@i-klinik.com or use the UK patient enquiry form. Tell the team which questions you would like to discuss.
